Frequently Asked Questions

What time does camp run each day?
Camp begins at 9:00 a.m. each day and continues until 4:30 p.m. If your camper is riding the bus, the pick-up and drop-off time will depend on the location they are being transported to or from.

Where does the bus pick-up/drop-off and does it cost extra?
Our transportation schedule can be found in the Parent Information Section of the website.

What kind of busses do you have and how are they supervised?
We use standard yellow school busses. A staff member will check campers in and out at each bus stop. Staff members supervise the bus.

Who are the counselors?
The counselors are in their last year of high school or in college. Many have past experience working with children. They live in Boston or the communities surrounding the Blue Hills. The staff completes an intensive 40 hour staff training prior to the start of summer.

What kind of bathrooms do you have?
We have modern restroom facilities with flush toilets and running water. We have separate bathrooms for boys and girls.

How much time do the children spend outside?
Campers will spend the majority of their day outside. There will be short periods of time when they may be in the lodge or the Creative Arts building for an activity.

What happens if it is raining?
In the case of rain showers or drizzle we will continue our activities outside. Should the weather become more severe we will organize activities in the lodge, covered pavilions, and Creative Arts building.

Where do the campers swim?
We have two outdoor pools where we offer swim lessons and recreational swim. The pool is staffed by certified lifeguards.
